Lander Casteels

Curriculum

Lander Casteels graduated with honours with a Master's degree in Law from Ghent University in June 2025.

During the 2024-2025 academic year, he had the opportunity to join a research group as a student research assistant. This experience sparked his interest in scientific research, which resulted in the publication of an article in the Journal of Environmental Law, among other things.

His enthusiasm for environmental law was reflected in his choice of courses in this field, including spatial planning and environmental hygiene law. He also has a particular interest in nature conservation law.

During his academic career, he also liked to look beyond the boundaries of his programme. For example, he participated in a university-wide honours programme, which brought him into contact with various disciplines and broadened his horizons.

Since September 2025, Lander has been part of the LDR team, where he mainly focuses on supporting the environmental law team.
